If you run the fractals demo, you can 'spin' the object with left-drag, and zoom the camera with middle-drag.

But if you turn the mouse wheel even one click, suddenly the above features can no longer be changed.

This was noticed on both linux (erco) and windows (ian) during
discussion on fltk.general today, subject: "Re: fractals demo broken when 1.3.3 ABI guard set?"

Possibly fixed by r10184...

Though, having resolved the problem, I now think I could do a better fix!

OK, "better fix" in r10185.

Now, instead of just ignoring the scroll wheel events entirely (as per 10184) it now uses them to make the scene zoom in/out, which is *probably* what a "modern day" user would expect!

Seems to work, at any rate, though I am far from sure that I have the scroll sensitivity set appropriately!
